Day 1: Arrive to Arusha
Once you arrive to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by an
Aardvark Safaris representative and transferred to your lodge where you will enjoy
a late night snack & restful night’s sleep before beginning your adventure the next
morning.
Overnight: Arusha Lodge
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
You will begin your safari journey early morning, traveling to Tarangire
National Park. Tarangire National Park is Tanzania’s fourth largest park,
offering diverse wildlife and scenery, including dramatic baobab trees. In
the evening, enjoy the campfire at your Lodge with millions of stars
overhead.
Overnight: Tarangire Treetops
Day 3: Tarangire National Park
Enjoy a full day exploring Tarangire National Park, one of the best places to
view elephant herds. Keep your eyes peeled near Tarangire’s riverbanks
looking for lions, leopards, giraffes, gerenuks, reedbucks, and even the rare
fringe-eared oryx. Enjoy a picnic lunch, while viewing the breathtaking
scenery surrounding you. After a full day of wildlife viewing, return back to
your Treetop lodge to relax in comfort & style before another amazing
dinner under the star-filled sky.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, continue your journey by heading west toward the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the scenery of rolling hills and vibrant
colors as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Highlands over the Great
Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive at the award-winning lodge, Gibb’s Farm, in
time for lunch, where you are sure to enjoy the serenity of this lush and
extraordinary oasis. Visit with Daniel Tewa, a local historian and storyteller.
Optional afternoon activities include mountain biking, spa services, bird
watching, coffee roasting, drinking tea on the verandah, visiting the artist in
residence, and more!

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is a geological marvel, sometimes referred as the
“8th Wonder of the World”, boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to
forest to savannas. It is home to about 30,000 animals, despite its limited
size of only 10 miles across. Today, you will enjoy a full day of wildlife
viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. In the evening, return to your lodge where
you will enjoy happy hour & can relax at Tembo Fire, Gibb’s Farm open-air
sitting area nestled in organic gardens.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at Gibb’s Farm, continue your journey into the heart of
Tanzania by heading west towards the Serengeti Plains. On the way, you will
make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge, “the cradle of mankind” where the
Leakey Family uncovered the fossil of Homo habilis, who lived 1.75 million
years ago. You will arrive at your new camp, Katikati Camp, located in the deep
heart of this famous migration corridor with its wide-open spaces,
bright blue skies and creature-filled landscapes. After a leisurely lunch
at the camp, you will head back out for an afternoon wildlife game drive.
In the evening, you will enjoy a delightful dinner to end your first day in the Serengeti.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park
This morning, enjoy the vastness of the Serengeti, “the land that flows on
forever,” spanning nearly 6,000 square miles and offering some of the best
wildlife viewing that Africa has to offer. You will have a full day of wildlife
viewing in Serengeti National Park. Take a break from game viewing to
enjoy your provided boxed lunch & enjoy your stunning surroundings. Want
to view the Serengeti from a birds-eye-view? Ask us to book your hot air
balloon excursion, where you float above the ground just as the sun is rising,
creating a memory that will last a lifetime!
Overnight: Serengeti Safari Camp
Day 8: Serengeti National Park
Travel to another location of the Serengeti today, to explore all new
scenery, landscapes and animals. You will enjoy plenty of diverse wildlife
viewing along the way, promising to be yet another exciting and memorable
day. Return back to camp and relax with a warm shower in the afternoon,
before indulging in another delightful dinner.

Day 9: Private Nature Refuge – Serengeti
Make your way to a private nature refuge, a remote and pristine region
located east of Serengeti National Park. Its location outside the park makes
it a perfect destination for discerning guests who wish to enjoy a true
wilderness and exploration experience. On the way to your new camp, you
will be able to view various types of wildlife. After checking into your
private refuge, Buffalo Luxury Camp, explore your surroundings with a
leisurely afternoon hike. Relax after your hike before taking a short evening
game drive, just as the sun starts to set and the animals begin to wake from
their daytime rests.

Day 10: Private Nature Refuge – Serengeti
The private nature refuge gives travelers the opportunity to explore the
wilderness as well as the culture of the Maasai, an indigenous tribe of
people to Eastern Africa. You will have an unforgettable experience today
when you visit a local Maasai women’s group, to meet the women and learn
about their survival, sustainability and what every day life is like for them.
Later, the cultural exchange continues, as your new Maasai friends gather
around the campfire at your camp to share traditional folklore stories.

Day 11: Arusha
Enjoy one last Serengeti breakfast before departing on a scenic flight late
this morning, arriving in Arusha in time for a farewell lunch, some souvenir
shopping, and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening. Your
Aardvark Safaris guide will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport,
where you will catch your flight home.

Arusha National Park sits on the edge of the picturesque Mt. Meru, and is just a
short drive from Arusha. Here you will explore the diverse landscapes from lush
forests, open savannahs, alkaline lakes & more, to view a wide variety of species.
You may even be lucky enough to spot the endangered black and white Colobus
Monkey! This is a great way to become familiar with your safari vehicle,
guide, and tips & tricks for spotting and identifying species. This extension also
allows you an extra day to get acclimated to your new time zone!
